There is one place in the city that, aside from our own home and my corporate office, I spent a lot of time at. Me and thousands of other people walk through its doors every day and for as long as I can remember, this place has been an important institution in the landscape of this town and it has been part of many people’s lives, including mine.
To many, it has been arguably the ultimate shopping destination in the national capital and it’s easy to see why. It’s the hub of transport and commute and it’s fantastically located right at the core of downtown, only minutes away from the majestic Parliament Hill and it is right in the hustle and bustle of the many other businesses, offices, restaurants, hotels and tourist landmarks around it.

CF Rideau Centre, apart from being the fashion mecca that it’s known to be has been a place where people can buy beautiful clothes and shoes and new phones but it has also serve thousands, if not millions, as a place where lasting memories are being made.

HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE NEW REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT OF #CFRIDEAUCENTRE?
Just think about how many parents and new students spent hours on back to school shopping at CF Rideau Centre. Or mothers and daughters hopping from store to store looking for the perfect prom dress. How many students have spent immeasurable amount of hours studying at Starbucks or Second Cup or Bridgehead, trying to catch some Wi-Fi (Did you know that #wifi services are actually available all over the mall now – for FREE?) and drafting their essays or working on their group projects.
How about that many families who spends their weekends together… shopping and browsing and culminating their visit by sharing a meal at the massive CF Rideau Centre Food Court. And girlfriends catching up for some fun, food and of course, shopping! Or new and excited graduates shopping for their very first suit? For decades, CF Rideau Centre has also been, for countless of people, the very place where they had their first jobs.

Just think of the many of life’s special occasions where hurried husbands and clueless boyfriends went to CF Rideau Centre to find the perfect gift… birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, promotions, baby showers and wedding showers… How many people have met on a date at CF Rideau Centre, fell in love and are now together… forever?
All these are more than just shopping trips to the Rideau Centre. Sometimes, these hours spent at CF Rideau Centre are special moments where lasting memories are made… for a lifetime.

That’s exactly what I meant when I say… BEYOND SHOPPING: MAKING LASTING MEMORIES AT CF RIDEAU CENTRE. And I’m sure, there’s many who would agree with me.
For me… for many, many years, CF Rideau Centre has been part of our everyday. I work there and I work-out there. In fact, I used to teach right there at the GoodLife Fitness in the basement of CF Rideau Centre for almost 10 years!
I meet old friends there and I make new ones there. I’ve made so many lasting memories at CF Rideau Centre and I suspect, I’ll be making more new ones. Especially with the massive new expansion comes more possibilities. There are new stores to explore and when you see the extensive list of new additional stores, you will see, there is TRULY something here for everyone!
