FALL FASHION: ALL HAIL FOR FALL IS THE QUEEN OF ALL FASHION SEASONS
Oh Fall.
You fascinate me and scare me at the same time. Though you’ve been the timeless harbinger of arctic wind and frozen tundra come January, you’ve also been the usherette of all things lovely in fashion come September. Long hailed as the ultimate fashion season, a fact very hard to dispute when runways and street style start becoming cozier, richer in colours and more diverse in fabrics and textures. While I personally can love Summer forever, sartorially, it falls (pun intended!) short from its perpetually stylish and chic sister Fall.
From designers to retailers to ultimately the consumers, fall fashion has long been hailed the QUEEN of all fashion seasons.
I could dispute this based on the fact that summer fashion is just as fun and exciting but that would be a lie. I am merely in disagreement for fall because I loath cold weather but I completely in love with warm blankets and warm drinks, Thanksgiving and of course, fall fashion.

It’s difficult to deny the allure of cozy knits against skinny jeans or black leggings. It’s challenging to stay from plush and cushy cold weather accessories like wool hat, double knit gloves and statement scarves. It’s tough to look away from gorgeous rack after rack of impeccably cut coats and jackets in such rich colours and dreamy fabrics like tweed, wool, knit, gauze and of course, cashmere. Nothing can be more luxurious than slipping into a decidedly decadent pair of boots that’s both polished, warm and cozy at the same time.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FALL TREND THIS SEASON?
As I’m not quite ready to go head on with all the fall fashion trends this season, I am treading lightly and have opted for tried and true summer to fall transition fashion. Florals has been HUGE this year and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down.
I love the darker, richer and weather appropriate take on this stunning wrap dress from Banana Republic (On Sale at BR in CF Rideau Centre and online!). On one hand, it’s still a summer fare with its shorter sleeves and thigh high slit but on the other, it’s simply perfect for fall when you top it with a leather moto jacket (a denim jacket would pair well on warmer nights too!) and finish it with this gorgeous felt floppy hat from Le Chateau.
FALL FASHION AND SHOE LUXE COLLECTION AT LE CHATEAU – #RIDEAUSTYLE
Speaking of Le Chateau, I must point something noteworthy from this Canadian fashion institution. For many years, especially in recent ones, it has really re-invented itself and has been a strong fashion contender not just in the Canadian retail industry but also overseas. It’s particularly worth mentioning their extensive shoe collection, which has been impressive as of late. Not just in terms of Le Chateau shoes being on trend and on fleck when it comes to style but also in in terms of quality. They even have their exclusive LUXE Collection with shoes made of lush real leather from Brazil and Italy!

I’ve been lusting over these suede sandals since I saw them on Le Chateau’s Instagram account (definitely an IG account worth a follow!). It’s a hybrid between chunky sandals and mules and they’re just perfect as summer to fall transition sandals, don’t you think?
