SCHMOOZEFEST 2015: BE A #UWHERO – MIX, MINGLE, CHANGE LIVES

Making a difference in the community is such an important part of why we do what we do here at Twenty York Street. We always strive for #realchange and #realprogress and we do anything and everything we can to make our own contribution to making our society better. So when United Way asked me to be part of the this year’s #People2Know or #P2K Campaign, I did not hesitate to accept such honour and privilege. #P2K is one element of the very famous event Schmoozefest, which is Ottawa’s exclusive networking event for the city’s next generation of philanthropists, passionate networkers and everyday heroes (#UWHero) hosted by United Way Ottawa’s GenNext Cabinet.

UNITED WAY OTTAWA’S #SCHMOOZEFEST 2015 AND THIS YEAR’S #P2K

As you can imagine, Schmoozefest offers young professionals in Ottawa the opportunity to network with community leaders in government, business, media, social enterprise, the arts and more. The event’s host, GenNEXT Ottawa, is led by a volunteer cabinet of young leaders. The GenNEXT Cabinet’s mission is to make United Way Ottawa the best vehicle to drive social change among Ottawa’s next generation of philanthropists. In 2015, their goal is to change 107 lives by fundraising $30,000 and connecting with 5,000 millennials in Ottawa.

So… along with other prominent Ottawa celebrities and personalities such as the Mayor of Ottawa himself, Jim Watson, Kathy Smart of Living the Smart Way, VJ Zara of XO Velo, Nick Bachusky of Lunch Out Lunch, Councilor Mathieu Fleury, Doug Tetzner of Shopify, Digital Expert Erin Blaskie, Nicolina Leone of Ottawa Magazine, Editor and Blogger Andrea Tomkins and many more, I, MARILOU PALABRICA MOLES aka @20YS, will be part of the SCHMOOZEFEST 2015 #P2K and will be there to help raise awareness and of course, raise funds for the event’s chosen charity – EcoEquitable!
