Nothing excites me more than long weekends! Okay, that’s not exactly 100% true as I like shopping, traveling, doing nothing… I can go on and on (which I suppose makes my first statement entirely untrue but you know what I mean!) but the point is, the September long weekend is upon us and it’s three glorious days of still summer-ish weather and a social calendar free to anything you want! It’s a holiday, yay!

THE 28TH GATINEAU HOT AIR BALOON FESTIVAL TAKES OFF
If you are staying in the Ottawa – Gatineau region for a #STAYCATION, do remember that it’s the 28th Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival and it’s all sorts of amazing! From kid’s and family activities, a huge summer fair, concerts with (mostly) French artists such as Éric Lapointe, Maxim Landry, Patrick Groulx, Marianna Mazza, Les Respectable, etc. and of course, gorgeous and colourful hot air balloons flying all over the sky, it’s a must-see for the whole family! Pour tout savoir concernant le Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau, visitez le site officiel ici!
From September 3 – 7, 2015, catch the 28th Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival in the Outaouais! The blue sky seriously looks magical when all the balloons lift off! If you are looking for more things to do in the National Capital Region, there’s the Ottawa Ska Fest, the Japanese Film Festival, the Alex Colville’s exhibition up at the National Art Gallery, the Serbian Festival, Strawberry and all kinds of berry picking in the area and the Monday Night Movies at the Museum! Check out the Outaouais Tourism Blog, Metro Ottawa and Ottawa Tourism for more details!
As for us, aside from planning to partake in some 28th Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival fun, we may head back to Montreal for some serious beach time! Running favourites for what to do during the September Long Weekend are Mont Tremblant or Saint Sauveur! What about you guys?
