Perhaps one of the easiest and the hardest events to get dressed up for are formal black tie affair coupled with red carpet arrivals. Easy because you know exactly the proper dress code, it’s not casual business (what does that even mean?) or daytime cocktail (you mean a dress code for when you drink mimosas?). Difficult because you know the star magnitude of this event where every single from their grandmother to their pet chihuahua will be dressed to the nines!
Or Tens if you happen to be invited (or if you were the LUCKY WINNER of our #GGAwards Ticket Give-away!) to the year’s most prestigious red carpet event in Ottawa – the Governor General Performing Arts Awards Gala at the National Arts Centre!

How cool and convenient is that to have a one-stop shop for all your wedding needs, right at a shopping mall? Le Chateau’s new #LeWedding / #StyleDowntheAisle collection is surely poised to become a big hit as, apart from the great style and quality of the pieces, you can’t beat the price!
WHAT TO WEAR TO THE GOVERNOR GENERAL PERFORMING ARTS AWARDS #GGAWARDS
Le Chateau’s regular collection of formal and cocktail dresses are still available and as a matter of fact, have gone even bigger and better. Along with a new store design concept, it feels very much like Springtime at Le Chateau these days and I couldn’t think of a better way to shop for a gala event like the GG Awards, where I get see the likes of former Prime Ministers, the Governor General himself and his beautiful wife, and of course, the Laureates like Sarah McLachlan, Atom Egoyan and Jean-Marc Valée get honoured for their craft!
And before we show the official photos from the red carpet, we want to share with you our shopping adventure at Le Chateau at the Rideau Centre, where they have the biggest collection of formal gowns, prom dresses, shoes, After the Ball and of course, the #LeWedding Collection. Though not all from the Wedding Collection, here are my top 5 options at the moment for LE CHATEAU’S THE WEDDING BOUTIQUE MEETS THE GOVERNOR GENERAL PERFORMING ARTS AWARDS #GGAWARDS:
