There’s something absolutely magical with summertime, the sun is brightly shining, the skies are bluer than blue and everyone just feels generally fantastic every day. There are so many events, gatherings and music festivals to go to that it’s the perfect time to experiment with different looks without having to layer so many pieces of clothing on. Don’t get me wrong, I do love fall fashion as much as the next true blooded style blogger worth her 5-inch stilettos but there’s something fresh and carefree about summer dressing that makes it more fun. It’s so easy that you don’t have to think about it especially when you find versatile pieces that you can build so many types of shoes and accessories around it – like this fabulous black and white number from HKR Collections. With the perfectly lined vertical stripes and the strategically placed waist enhancer on the sides, the Leonardo is in fact, one of the brand’s best sellers.
Made with expandable and breathable fabric, the Leonardo Dress is quite forgiving and I reckon, flattering for most, if not all, body types. It may have the look of a bodycon but it certainly is not constricting as one as it does not squeeze you into shape but rather hug you in the right places.
Aside from the textured fabric and faultless cut, what I love about the Leonardo is its ability to be a chameleon piece – dress up, dress down or can even be worn as a skirt; you can incorporate it into your wardrobe seamlessly. This dress is just one of the many beautiful pieces carried by HKR Collections, a fashion brand that is based in Montreal, Quebec and is widely known in Canada, US and soon, in Europe.
To celebrate the official start of summer, I couldn’t find a better way to dress to a music festival (Look #1) and to a sweet date or a fun night out to town (Look #2). Check out how we’ve styled the Leonardo, 1X2 ways, below:
LOOK #1: CASUAL TO A MUSIC FESTIVAL
Leonardo Dress – c/o HKR Collections, Statement Earrings – c/o ALDO , Moto Jacket – Aeropostale, Gifted
Kennedy Tote – Banana Republic, Mirrored sunglasses – GUESS, Caged Booties – c/o – ALDO
Since the dress is a stand-out piece by itself, don’t over think everything else. I chose simple summer appropriate accessories, gorgeous metallic flats with gold detail from Alberto Ferretti, coordinating striped tote with copper highlights from Banana Republic and of course, the classic cool Moto Jacket in case the evening gets cold.
LOOK #2: SEXY TO A DATE THAT IS FANCY
Similar to Look #1, you don’t want to over analyze what you have to wear to summer soiree. As a matter fact, you can just pair the Leonardo with caged heels in a bold statement colour like these ones from ALDO, add minimal accessories and you are good to go!
How about you, how would you wear the Leonardo?
