Arguably one of the most grandiose of space I’ve been to, ARTEMANO DECOR, is almost too stunning for words.
As a writer, being loss for words is, as you can imagine, the bane of one’s career but you only have to step into one of the ARTEMANO stores in Canada, especially (in my opinion) the one right here in the nation’s capital and you’ll understand exactly what I mean.
Have you been to a store that as soon as you can walk in, the ambiance is absolutely breathtaking and each collection is stunning than the next? Well, that is exactly what ARTEMANO is. I can’t helped but get awe-inspired every time I come to visit.
A visit to ARTEMANO is unlike a visit to any other store where you go in, do your business and out you go. A visit to the store is almost like walking into Narnia. You step into that closet and you walk out into another dimension. A dimension where everything is beautiful and exotic, where each pieces where thoughtfully carved or made carefully by hand. For me personally, moments spent at ARTEMANO is like taking me back to the exquisite parts of Asia. I see remnants of my childhood growing up in a house full of furniture made out of exotic hard wood. Running my hands through the solid yet smooth wood tables take me back to my time in Bangkok. Staring at the different iterations of Buddha definitely takes me back to our afternoons in Bali, where we would drive from up the mountain to the bustling and culturally rich city of Ubud, that very same place where Julia Roberts filmed the love part of the Eat, Pray, Love. Sitting on the hanging hammock right in the middle of the store brings back memories of carefree summer days at my grandparents islands where the water is as blue as the sky above it.
As walk through the massive space that is filled with pieces that you can bring to your own home, you immediately feel the sense of calm and serenity as although the store is indeed full of furniture, fixtures and decor, the entire lay-out is so artfully put together that everything blends together aesthetically. There is not an assault to the senses but instead, you feel a gradual feeling of renewal. You start to feel more at peace as you seem to glide from one section to another. I wish I can take you there right now. Since I can’t… I may have a better proposition.
How about winning a $200 gift certificate to ARTEMANO so you can go visit on your own, explore everything it has to offer, meet its excellent staff and ultimately, find pieces that you can take with you to make your home sweet home. All you have to do is visit ARTEMANO at www.artemano.com and tell us what is your favourite piece.
Good luck and namaste to you. Next time, I will tell you about this absolutely magical evening we had at ARTEMANO.
