WELCOME TO CANADA’S WONDERLAND
There may be a number of winter capitals all in the world but there is something about Ottawa in the winter that just cannot be matched anywhere else in this planet. First of all, the cold is just brutally unpretentious that it gets right on your face as soon as you get out of the house so you better be prepared to what will greet you outdoors. Second of all, have you been to the World Heritage Site Rideau Canal? It is just so spectacular that everyday, thousands of people come here to visit, skate, walk and eat the very Canadian Beaver Tail.
Why else would one skate at the Rideau Canal if not for the Beaver Tail, yes?
Frozen aside, Ottawa is absolutely magical in the winter, especially when you view it from the inside looking out. You know when you’re all cuddled under a warm blanket by the roaring fire with a hot cocoa in hand and just looking through the window to see what a winter wonderland Ottawa has become.
ENJOY WINTERLUDE WITH PALLADIUM BOOTS
If that doesn’t sound like a viable option, there’s only one thing one must do. As a bonafide Canadian, we know first hand that one must have reliable boots in order to survive this polar vortex. While there are so many selection in the market for winter boots, most of them are bulky and heavy and sometimes, that works to your disadvantage – both in form and function. Fashion wise, it’s quite difficult to look all stylish with humungous boots. Function wise, it’s hard to do winter-appropriate activities when you have such heavy footwear that it is cumbersome and quite exhausting.
Fortunately, I found these great alternatives from Palladium Boots. The cut itself is evidently slimmer and sleeker than most winter boots BUT don’t let that fool you. The material might be thinner but it actually provides the warmth you need to not only survive Winterlude but to really enjoy it. It’s #OUTAOUAISFUN.
