Of the many, many prestigious events that we are invited to, one of my top favourites is the GOVERNOR GENERAL’S PERFORMING ARTS AWARDS GALA. Aside from the parade of beautiful people are their outfits on the red carpet, aside from the delicious and to die for canapés and cocktails prepared by the National Arts Centre’s Le Café Executive team (head by Executive Chef John Morris) and aside from the brilliant and well executed performance, the evening’s main highlight is the red carpet event and the stellar tributes to the recipients.
We are beyond thrilled to let you know, we are going to be at both! You’ll see us at the red carpet welcoming guests and honoured recipients and I can’t wait to see what everybody’s wearing. Though an edgy mix has been seen in recent times, this is truly a black tie event. Last year, I wore my mother’s vintage gown with a high side slit a la (or better than) Angelina Jolie, a clutch from David Dixon, an intricate ring bracelet from my sister and accessories from Banana Republic. This year, although I’m still unsure of what outfit (visiting options from Rent Frock Repeat) to wear, I know exactly what shoes and accessories to wear to the red carpet, big thanks to ALDO and Nella Bella by Tarek. A Canadian line of vegan purses and accessories, Nella Bella’s summer collection will showcase gorgeously at the red carpet.
It is truly a night to remember.

On that note, I would like to extend the invitation to the 2014 GOVERNOR GENERAL’S PERFORMING ARTS AWARDS GALA to you our dear readers! It’s a black tie affair that’s hosted by the Governor General of Canada himself, emceed by the dashing Colm Feore and usually graced by the First Lady and the see the likes of Jian Gomeshi, Dragon Den’s Arlene Dickinson and Jim Treliving, Conrad Black (yes, that Conrad Black) and Canada’s biggest celebrities as guests.

While the evening is indeed a very well orchestrated affair, followed by inspiring performance after another and a prestigious awards ceremony, the #GGPAA is also one VERY FUN event! This is by far one of my most preferred events in the country.
We are giving away 2 tickets to the prestigious GGPAA Gala!
