ALDO GRAND RE-OPENING PARTY: ALDO ANNOUNCES @20YS AS THEIR NATIONAL STYLE AMBASSADOR #ALDOXRIDEAU #ALDOALIST – PART I
The week has been by far one of the most hectic yet exciting times here at Twenty York Street. Travelling via 6 flights all the way from the other side of the world, I spent two glorious weeks of business and relaxation in Asia. One of the highlights of the week was a long time dream finally coming true of doing charity work in the Philippines for poor, less fortunate children (more on that in an upcoming special post). The week ended in a very high note, an exhilarating opportunity for me and Twenty York Street, as I hosted two nights of the ALDO Grand Re-opening Party at the Rideau Centre.
ALDO’S NATION’S CAPITAL STYLE AMBASSADOR
As ALDO’s National Style Ambassador (read more about that announcement here), part of my duty is to officially welcome loyal fans and supporters of both ALDO and Twenty York Street to the newly renovated store along with live beats from two different DJ’s, exclusive ALDO shoe photo studio, instagram and #selfie photo booth, treats, candy bar, tea bar, drinks and lots of pretty pastries. Driven by technology, innovation and customer satisfaction, the new ALDO store concept offers consumers an experience marked with creativity and originality, which is at the heart of the ALDO brand.

Designed with the customer in mind, the newly renovated corner location combines a functional layout with artistic design as evidenced by the precise application of ALDO Jacquard on columns and walls, digital screens displaying the latest campaign videos, and a beautifully well-organized and well-stocked inventory.
ALDO RIDEAU CENTRE GRAND RE-OPENING PARTY
Hosting the Grand Re-opening Party was beyond thrilling! It was absolutely electrifying welcoming the hundreds of people who came through ALDO’s door and to share with them the new store design that is both stimulating and inviting. We gave away so many prizes, ALDO gift cards to our followers in Twitter and Instagram and I got to pick a winner for an exclusive Style Prize every night! The winners went home with brand new shoes and accessories that the Twenty York Street Team handpicked for them!
Although I was only supposed to give away one big special prize, ALDO generously allowed me to give away TWO! Congratulations to Christine and Dez, our Friday big winners and Ms. Arlette and DJ Zara, our Saturday (do stay tuned for Part II of this post) big winners!
#ALDOALIST / #ALDOXRIDEAU: PACKED HOUSE, TRENDING IN SOCIAL MEDIA
Aside from E, the many friends and family who attended, some members of the media, local celebrities and fellow fashion bloggers we especially invited also came to lend their support for the grand re-opening party. Ms. Ilham Chabi, ALDO’s District Manager and the ALDO Corporate team, headed by Alain (Sarah, Marla, Marc, Roxanne, Nina and more) came all the way from Montreal to help launch the grand re-opening party.
It was amazing to see the many, many loyal ALDO customers as they happily spy, try and buy the latest fashion footwear and accessories of the season.

One of the best things for me personally was the realization that Twenty York Street actually has a HUGE following! To meet all these beautiful folks who come here regularly and read the blog… to meet them in person and to hear their individual anecdotes (“I was in bed when I saw your post on Instagram so I got up and said I have to go support my girl… “ I was studying for my exams at a coffee shop but I thought I’d drop by and say hi!”) on how they follow @20YS and they came out to support us at this huge event is beyond gratifying. I am so THANKFUL and humbled by the many, many of you who came!
SKYFALL BLUE TEAM MAKING IT HAPPEN
I am THANKFUL and very GRATEFUL for my SKYFALL BLUE and TWENTY YORK STREET team for the big help all throughout this event.
