While all the other awards show prior were fabulous, there is no greater red carpet display than the Oscar Awards. As the most anticipated night of all of Hollywood, the Academy Awards is like the most marvelous highlight of a fiscal year end for the movie industry. It’s no wonder there are high expectations for this night to deliver. To deliver on recognizing the best actors and actresses and also in fierce fashion choices!
Such is my homework in preparation for my fashion TV segment at CTV Ottawa Morning Live tomorrow and I cannot be more excited! Aside from fashion week and designer collection launches, Awards Shows are the other Disneyland for Fashion Bloggers; we take this kind of thing seriously. Serious enough to stay glued to the telly starting early Sunday afternoon while simultaneously tweeting, posting, pinning on the iPhone 5, the iPad, Mac Air and the occasional back-up of an iPhone 5s, and staying up all night watching more TV to go on TV the next day. Well, in a few hours from now really.
So, what’s our verdict?
The Oscars did deliver a very respectable red carpet show this year (images courtesy of E Online), although there will not be many that will find itself in best all-time records or iconic Oscar Awards dresses ever. They were great but not fantastically so. Nevertheless, here’s our quick list of the best, the good and the not so good. Shorts by Pharrell Williams, really?
