2014 SAG AWARDS BEST AND WORST DRESSED: THE GOOD, THE FAB AND THE UGLY

Right off the bat, we are happy to report that much better than the Golden Globes Red Carpet, the 2014 SAG Awards  was a beautiful display of colours and bold choices that we hope will set a much higher standard for the highly anticipated Academy Awards. Unlike the Golden Globes where no one was memorable enough, the Screen Actor Guild’s Awards gave us a parade of stunning gowns – both in fit, pattern and colours. Before we present this year’s SAG Awards Best and Worst Dressed List, do check our TOP 5 Best Dressed and Worst Dressed List for the 2014 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS – THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. Now that those fashion choices are freshly printed in your mind, here’s a remarkably better list of the best and worst dressed from the SAG Awards!

THE VERY VERY GOOD

Our Top Three of the very best is based on the fact that these designer gowns are completely out of the ordinary  and the choice of colours are definitely bold, especially for Cate Blanchett and Isla Fisher as they have very fair complexion and could easily get washed out with light neutrals. The floral neckline of Lupita’s Gucci gown? Absolutely fascinating!

THE FAB

When you know your body and you know what looks good on it, you have a sure fire recipe for always looking fabulous. Oprah and Amy Adams stuck with their body hugging mermaid gowns and they were indeed the right choice. Julia Roberts’ Pantone Colour of the Year gown is definitely a breath of fresh air like her choice of soft, beachy waves – it stands out in the sea of usual black.

THE KINDA UGLY

Sometimes, with an army of professional stylists, hair stylists, make-up artists and many other people who’s one sole job is to make a celebrity look good, it’s not comprehensible how stars can come out looking at red carpet events looking like this. There is just no explanation.

SPECIAL HONOURABLE MENTION

As we don’t like to end this on a sour note around here, we’d like to give a special shout-out to the most darling couple of the night. Matthew and Camilla brought the glamour and the fashion and took home the win!
