Thanksgiving Day (Jour de l’Action de grâce for French Canadians) is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.  Although we really shouldn’t wait for that one day a year to feel grateful and thankful for the many great things we have in our lives, it still serves as a welcome reminder. It gives us that opportunity to not only share a huge feast of turkey with family and friends but to really reflect on the ‘good things’, whatever they may be – your amazing friends, your loving but crazy family, your job, business, health, the beautiful outdoors, the stunning sunrise and sunset, it could be anything.

And sometimes, it could be that one surprisingly gorgeous photo (in your humble opinion) of yourself.

It could be that perfect angle or that fantastic natural lighting from the sun but truth be told, this time, I think it’s all about the dress. When H&M CANADA sent me this dress in the mail, I knew straight away that this would be fabulous addition to not only my fall wardrobe but for the upcoming holiday season as well.

With its bejeweled collar, flattering silhouette, versatile cut and colour (the charcoal grey is a standout and a perfect alternative to your usual little black dress) and its pretty thoughtful attention to detail, this H&M dress can smoothly transition from the office (with a structured fitted blazer) to an evening out with understated yet elegant accessories, simple black clutch and your strappiest little stilettos!

As if the triple layer beads adorning the front to back collar of this dress is not enough, a quick turn reveals an edgy detail that takes this dress up a notch in the style department. The diamond cut-out is indeed an outstanding add-on detail that makes this dress a poised structured shift in front and a rock glam party at the back!

Sometimes, that’s just one of life’s sweet little surprises.
