The last time we told you about one enchanting evening at the Opera, courtesy of Opera Lyra Ottawa’s Annual Garden Party at the Honourable Italian Ambassador’s residence, we promised we’d come back with stunning coverage of not only the performers and the guests of honour but also the equally stylish guests who came to brave the ubiquitous downpour to sit down, get lost and enjoy one of life’s finest crafts.
Here at Twenty York Street however, when we promise something, we always strive to do one better. For you, our dear readers for continuously supporting our journey and cheering us on along the way.
So, without further ado, we are giving you the on camera and behind the scenes of this year’s OPERA LYRA OTTAWA’S GARDEN PARTY and a fabulously give-away to their season opener – CARMEN – at the National Arts Centre!
TWO much coveted TICKETS to one of opera’s greatest classics! A story by George Bizet about a soldier with a past who is seduced by a beautiful gypsy who cares only for her own freedom. Passions and jealousy build in sultry Seville, leading to a tragic finale. Full of some of the most famous and recognizable music in opera, this is one masterpiecethat is perhaps one of Opera’s most beloved works.
If you have already seen it, then you must know how incredibly powerful and moving it is and if you haven’t, then it’s your LUCKY DAY as you can WIN the change to see CARMEN LIVE at the National Arts Centre!

While the Opening Night is scheduled for Saturday, September 7th, 2013 (which we are so very fortunate to cover and give you just a slight sneak preview of the masterpiece), the OPERA LYRA OTTAWA Ticket Give-away is for the Monday performance on September 9, 2013 at 8:00 pm, National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
