Necessity is the mother of invention. At least this was the case for Sharon Sharpe-Titus, who, as a salon owner, stylist and makeup artist could not find a safe, and most importantly, healthy beauty product to use on her clients that worked as well as the high-end brands. Taking matters into her own hands in 2007, she developed STT cosmetics putting the health of the consumer first.

What is the SST Tinted Primer and Moisture Kick (TPMK)

The SST Tinted Primer and Moisture Kick (TPMK) is the product that I used from this collection. TPMK is formulated to be worn alone or underneath another foundation – like a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream. As I do not wear much makeup on a day- to -day basis, I thought the coverage of this tinted base was great. It has a rich texture that goes on lightly but can be built upon for more coverage. Despite being paraben-free, TPMK absorbed quickly without leaving a sticky feeling. I did not see the need to put a foundation on top of it, though I’m sure it would make an excellent long lasting base. It minimized visible pores and red areas and gave a very natural finish and feel to my skin – all good things in my books.

PROS

• Paraben /Talc / Gluten Free formula is great for sensitive skin
• It goes one smooth and does not budge
• The moisturizing properties keep your skin looking radiant all day long without making it look oily.
• It lasts all day – ALL DAY!
• They’re Canadian. I know I’m a sucker for this but anything developed and made in Canada is a huge bonus for me.

CONS

While I did find that this “universally flattering” makeup did get close to my natural tone which is a feat for one (or two) shades fits all makeup – I’m usually the one looking for “this, but in a lighter shade” in the foundation aisle. I really (REALLY) have to blend the makeup to make it wearable in the daytime. I think that the “light” shade would have been perfect. That being said, if you have really light skin or really dark skin I would it try before you buy it.
